"[An] insightful debut . . . Elkins provides accessible tools to reduce anxiety in both children and parents and backs up her clinical experience with current research. The result is a comprehensive road map for managing anxiety that will enlighten and empower.”—Publishers Weekly
“Parenting anxious kids is demanding—and especially so when you’re anxious yourself. But as Dr. Elkins makes clear, trying to give our children a frictionless life can leave them less prepared to face life’s inevitable challenges, fueling their anxiety—and yours. This smart, compassionate, and evidence-based guide offers a way out of that cycle. It’s a must-read and truly a gift for any parent or caregiver raising children in today’s pressure-filled world.”—Jennifer B. Wallace, author of Never Enough
Meet Meredith
I’m Dr. Meredith Elkins, a clinical psychologist who helps kids, teens, and parents break the cycle of anxiety and build resilience. I co-lead the McLean Anxiety Mastery Program at McLean Hospital and serve on the faculty at Harvard Medical School, but some of my most meaningful work comes from supporting families as they navigate big feelings. My approach blends science-backed strategies with compassion, making it easier for parents to feel confident and for kids to grow braver every day.
